Just here, at Pryvakzaĺnaja square, an industrial area has began to form from seventies of the nineteenth century. Žlobin became the city of railroad men. Eighteen ninety-three became the memorable year when a trace of Libava-Romienskaja railway overpassed near Žlobin, which united in eighteen seventy-seven–nineteen nineteen Belarusian provinces with Ukrainian ones and also with harbors of the Baltic Sea. And then railway stations, depot and car shops, where near five hundred workers were working, were built. From this time forth habitancy of Žlobin began increasing fast. In eighteen eighty Žlobin counted one hundred sixty-four yards and in seventeen years (in eighteen ninety seven) there were already seven hundred twenty-five yards. Currently habitancy of Žlobin composes near seventy six thousand people. The city is building on active. And in particular thanks to the railway.
