Church of Saint Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian was built in eighteen ten by the side of the Prypiać River.
Church books from seventeen seventy-two were kept just in the building of the church. In eighteen forty it was transferred to border of the town (now it's the centre of the city). As such the church existed till a fire of nineteen twenty in fire of which a priest died. After the fire the church was renewed again by donations of faithful and then in troubled years of Soviet time it was ruined and rebuilt again. Just as such with inconspicuous changes it has been kept until now. During the Second World War the building was being used for needs of gendarmery and police. After the war a convention hall, a district Party committee, a district executive committee, a kindergarten, a school warehouse were logged in it. In early nineteen nineties the building was returned to faithful, there were restoration works in it. In twenty eleven building of a brick temple which continues now began.
