Catholic church of The Protection of the Mother of God was founded as a church and a cloister of Carmelites.
Formerly, numerous important for life of people of Čerykaŭ administrative buildings and temples were facing an administrative square of the city. One of such temples was a Catholic church of The Protection of the Mother of God facing northern side of the square. A wooden Catholic church and the cloister were built here in seventeen ninety-two by pan Maladkovič. In eighteen thirty-two after strangulation of the insurrection of eighteen thirty-one within russification politics of Russian government the cloister was closed. Only in eighteen fifty-six at the place of the wooden Catholic church a stone church in the style of retrospective Gothic was built. The temple survived Soviet time, though in a much rebuilt state. Now after redecoration this building is being used as the House of culture.
