A new Orthodox temple of Kryčaū – a Resurrection cathedral – was built in nineteen ninety-one on the site of an ancient St. Paraskeva church.
A historical name of the temple is the church of Paraskeva Piatnitsa (Piatnitskaya). It already existed in Kryčaū in the second part of the sixteenth century. It is known that certain funds for it were expended by temporary owners of Kryčaū Mikalay Služka and Bahdan Salamiaretski. In nineteen thirties the church was strongly damaged and rebuilt into a club. Further the building was being used as a cinema. Only in nineteen ninety the church was returned to the faithful. The present-day Resurrection cathedral was built in nineteen ninety-one. The building is enough simple in decor. There are other two cupolas near the apse and the vestibule. On a belfry a bell founded at a local copper-smelting factory in seventeen forty-eight is used. The cathedral was built in the so-called Russian canonical architectonic style.
