In seventeen seventy eight Catherine II presented Kryčaū to Grigory Potiomkin. Soon the new owner built a residence in Kryčaū – a beautiful palace.
The palace is a monument of classicism. It’s a two-stored building with a central avant-corps on the main front. The main front is decorated with battlements, window apertures here are of pointed completion. Just this decor gives to the palace those singularity which unites it with Belarusian palaces. A building of stables has been hidden in a landscape park near the palace. One must say that unlike numerous monuments of architecture this palace looks pretty good both from outside and from inside. On a ground floor there is a hall of a registry office and also a museum of study of local lore. But a first floor is fully dedicated to renovation of palace life of the end of the eighteenth century. A round hall with a smart white piano especially impresses. And so you imagine that respected gentlemen sit on multitude chairs opposite it and listen to a classical concert.
