Mscislaŭ is a historical centre of Belarusian printing.

Mscislaŭ together with Polack is a centre of Belarusian printing. Notable Piotr Mscislaviec was born and was working in this city. Activity of a printer Ivan Fiodarovich (Fiodaraŭ) was also connected with Mscislaŭ. These two persons much contributed to development of printing not only in Belarus but also in Russia and Ukraine. The monument to Piotr Mscislaviec which was raised in two thousand one is situated practically in the centre of present-day Centre Square. A former merchants’ house is situated near it, on the right – a club, on the left – a former district committee.
