The church and the monastery of the Franciscans are monuments of architecture and art of the XV century.
The complex of the church and monastery began to be built here around the XV century. In accordance with the era, the style of the building was Gothic. During another war between the Moscow State and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1659, the wooden buildings of the monastery were destroyed. However, very soon it was restored, and the church building was reconstructed and stuccoed. During the war of 1812, the building was again partially destroyed. However, after 10 years on the site of the wooden church a stone one in the style of classicism was built. After the suppression of the uprising of 1830–1831 the Franciscan monastery was liquidated. The monastery building was destroyed, and the church building was converted into a warehouse. During the wars of the XX century this building was badly damaged. At present, as you can see, the building of the former Franciscan church is ruined. Pay attention to the lower part of the walls in the eastern half of the temple. These are the oldest parts of the ruins.
