The museum fund includes more than 14,000 exhibits, of which 10,600 are from the main fund, 3,500 are from the scientific and auxiliary fund. In total, the museum's funds include 28 collections. The museum has three halls, which display various collection exhibits. Many antiquities tell about the ancient times of the Dziaržynsk Region, modern moments of the city are also presented in the museum.

The museum has a number of collections: numismatics, painting, graphics, documents, sculpture, decorative and applied arts, books, archeology, bonistics, weapons, orders and medals, clothing, ethnographic and everyday objects, photographic documents, physical monuments, iconography, philocardia and others.

Historical and local history museum offers a visit to the permanent exhibition “Dziaržynsk region – from antiquity to modernity”, which includes sections: “The nature of the native land”, “Archaeology”, “History of antiquity and the Middle Ages in the territory of Dziaržynsk region”, “Ethnography”, “History of the Chapski family”, “State border”, “Great Patriotic War”, “Modern development of Dzerzhinsk region”.

The museum has temporary exhibitions of various topics: painting, graphics, decorative and applied arts, as well as exhibitions from private collections. It also hosts cultural and educational and competitive gaming events.
