The building of a former Pinsk gymnasium (Lenina Street, 39) is the place of studying of the first president of Israel Chaim Weizmann.

The building was raised in 1853. First there was a city specialized school here and later a city gymnasium was opened. The students of the gymnasium were taking part in the insurrection of 1863–1864. This led to demotion of Pinsk gymnasium by Russian government. When a part of Belarusian lands was in the Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, from 1920 to 1939, the Pinsk gymnasium was continuing working as a man gymnasium. Among well-known and notable graduates of this gymnasium we can find the scientist-chemist and the first president of Israel Chaim Weizmann, the architect Ivan Zhautouski and others. From 1939 after joining of West Belarus to BSSR the gymnasium was reorganized in a secondary school. Today there is the Department of education, sport and tourism of Pinsk city executive committee in this historical building.
