The football stadium in Barysaŭ is the home ground of the football club BATE (“Barysaŭ Automobile and Tractor Electrical Equipment Plant”) with a capacity of 13,121 fans. Officially, the stadium opened on May 3, 2014 with the final match of the Belarus Cup between Nioman, Hrodna, and Šachcior, Salihorsk.
In 2008 BATE was the first Belarusian club to qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. The club's home stadium in Barysaŭ could not meet the UEFA requirements for holding group stage matches, so BATE was forced to host its rivals at the Minsk Dynama stadium. In the following 2009, the team advanced to the group stage of another competition — the Europa League. At the end of the season, Anatoĺ Kapski, chairman of the board of the BATE football club, announced plans to build a modern arena for 12–15 thousand seats, which will meet the requirements for holding international matches at the level of group tournaments.
The stadium was designed by a Slovenian company. The stadium in Maribor (Slovenia) was taken as a model. Work on the stadium project was completed in the summer of 2010. It is a football stadium with a capacity of 12,548 spectators, which met the requirements of the fourth category of UEFA.
In 2014, a new football arena was opened. The number of seats for fans has increased to 13,121. A parking for 1,000 cars, 4 main catering points, a football paraphernalia store, a children's play center, a gym, a fitness room, and a press conference room were provided for visitors.
Equipped with modern equipment that meets all international norms and standards, the stadium can host not only matches of the qualifying stages of European cups, but also matches of the Champions League and the Europa League, up to the semi-finals.
