The Catholic Church of the Ascension of the Holy Cross was built at the Catholic cemetery in Astraviec in 1910–1911 with donations from parishioners. Its architecture combines features of neo-romanesque and neo-gothic styles.
The church is a classical cruciform basilica made of yellow brick, which gained popularity in the Belarusian temple architecture at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries.
During the Second World War, the temple was a refuge for the locals during shelling. In post-war Soviet times, the church building was used as a warehouse. In 1994, the Catholic Church of the Ascension of the Holy Cross reopened its doors to believers.
