Estate “Akinchycy” is the place of birth of Yakub Kolas, the national poet of Belarus, one of the founders of contemporary Belarusian literature.

The name “Akinchycy” has been taken after a surname of a gentleman Akinchyc who received this settlement (the shed) as a gift from a prince Radzivil. Akinchycy was a first place of work of a forester Mikhal Mickievich, the father of Yakub Kolas. The family of Mickievich settled here in eighteen eighty-one and on the third of November eighteen eighty-two in Akinchycy the future national poet of Belarus was born. Yakub Kolas (the real name − Kanstancin Mickievich) became not only a poet, a prose writer, a playwright, a critic, a scientist but is considered by right one of the founders of contemporary Belarusian literature. In nineteen seventy-seven Akinchycy were included in city bounderies of Stoubcy. And in nineteen eighty-two for the century from the birth of Yakub Kolas the estate was renewed in conformity with archival documents and its interior was renewing in accordance with memories of relatives of the poet and inhabitants. Now Akinchycy is a memorial estate, a museum worth visiting because in it you can see articles which were being used more than one hundred thirty years ago, look a way of life of a Belarusian family of the end of the nineteenth century.
