The building of the Aliaksandraŭskaja Gymnasium is a monument of civil architecture in the style of classicism.
The building of the men's classical gymnasium was built in 1898 and named after the Russian Emperor Alexander III. Aliaksandraŭskaja Gymnasium was the debut project of the famous architect Stanislaŭ Šabunieŭski – the author of many attractive buildings in the center of Homieĺ. Today the former building of the Aliaksandraŭskaja Gymnasium is the administrative and educational building of the only Belarusian Institute of Railway Engineers.
The former Aliaksandraŭskaja Gymnasium is a two-storey brick U-shaped building. The layout is a corridor with a one-sided arrangement of classrooms. In the central part along the main axis there is a main lobby with a three-flight stair, on both sides of which there are classrooms and administrative premises. The assembly and gym halls are located in one wing. During the reconstruction, the third storey was added to the side wings.
