The Homieĺ Palace and Park Ensemble is a unique complex of nature, history and architecture monuments in Belarus, which is located along the picturesque bank of the Sož river.
The Homieĺ Palace and Park Ensemble is not only a natural monument of republican significance. It occupies an exceptionally important place in the history of Belarusian architecture of the late 18th – first half of the 19th century. It reflects several directions of national palace architecture development at once: from advanced classicism to neo-Gothic style.
The composition of the Homieĺ Palace and Park Ensemble includes: the settlements of ancient and medieval Homieĺ of the 10th–18th centuries with preserved elements of the natural and historical landscape; planning structure of the central part of the city with architectural monuments of the 18th – early 20th century. Here are located: the Rumiancaŭ-Paskievič Palace (18th – 19th centuries); the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul (the beginning of the 19th century); the chapel-tomb of the Paskievičs (second half of the 19th century); the Winter Garden with an observation tower (19th century) and other sights. The compositional center of the ensemble is a palace built in the classic style, which embodied the spirit of the second half of the 18th century in artistic form.
