The second building of the Mahilioŭ State University named after Arkadź Kuliašoŭ is located in the former teachers’ institute building.

The building on the Malaja Sadovaja Vulica (today Lienina Vulica) was erected in the middle of the 19th century and initially housed a women’s gymnasium. From 1913, the teacher’s university began to operate here, then, from 1919, there was the National Education University. In 1930, it was converted to a pedagogical institute. In 1978, the Mahilioŭ Pedagogical Institute was named after the Belarusian literature classic, native of Mahilioŭ Region Arkadź Kuliašoŭ. In 1997, having passed the state accreditation, the Mahilioŭ Pedagogical Institute became the Mahilioŭ State University named after Arkadź Kuliašoŭ. Today, the second building of the Mahilioŭ State University is in here.

The former teachers’ institute building combines features of the late classicism, pseudo-Russian style and modern. The main elongated facade of the T-shaped in plan three-storey brick building overlooks the street frontage line.
