The Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Vierchniadzvinsk is a monument of classical architecture.
A wooden church in Drysa (modern Vierchniadzvinsk) was built in 1734. After Drysa was granted the status of a county town in 1777, its population increased significantly, which caused in particular the need for a more spacious Catholic church. The brick Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the city center in 1809. On the city plan of 1838, it is marked between Dzvinskaja, Maskoŭskaja and Novaja streets. In 1860, a plebania and an outbuilding, a chapel, a stable and other outbuildings were erected next to the church. In 1899, the church and the plebania were badly damaged by fire, but were restored. In Soviet times, the Catholic church ensemble was looted and partially destroyed. The surviving buildings were used for economic purposes. In 1990, the church was returned to the parishioners and restored.
