Braslaŭ Holy Assumption Church has a long and rich history.

In the early XVI century in Braslaŭ, there existed St. Barbara’s Church and an Orthodox nunnery on the Castle Hill (Grand Duchess Aliena, wife of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Aliaksandr Jahielončyk, is supposed to be their foundress). In the XVIII century, historical sources again recorded an Orthodox church near the Castle Hill. In 1859, the church burned down and a new wooden one was built in its place. Only in 1897, when the wooden church was replaced with the Holy Assumption Church made of brick, which is operating until now.

The Holy Assumption Church building was erected in the retrospective Russian style and is composed of a main cube volume, a pentagonal apse with a side sacristy, a refectory and a two-deck bell tower.
