The suspension footbridge across the Nioman built in the 1970s is the city’s landmark. This bridge is considered to be the longest among other suspension bridges in Belarus.
The suspension footbridge is a unique attraction of Masty. Construction of this non-typical for Belarus building began in 1971. The local company Mastadreŭ was responsible for the construction work. In April 1972, the grand opening took place. The Masty bridge is the longest footbridge in Belarus. Its length is 193 meters and width is 1,5 meters, which allows two people to pass by each other with ease.
In the 90s of the 20th century, the bridge was modernized: the structures were strengthened, the wooden walkway was replaced. The last reconstruction took place in 2019.
The bridge offers a spectacular view of the city at any time of year. There are always plenty of tourists and locals.
