The Holy Intercession Church is located in the city center, on an artificial mound. It was built in 1851 out of brick with state funds.
The church operated until the 30s of the 20th century. In 1936, in line with the anti-religious policy of the Soviet government, the church was closed and partially destroyed, the church dome was demolished. In 1937, the parish priest Siarhiej Sadoŭski was arrested by the communists and shot. The church building was used as a warehouse. In 1942, the German occupation authorities allowed the church to be opened and resume services. In 1952, the church was plastered and whitewashed. In 1990–1991, another renovation of the temple was carried out: central heating, water supply, alarm system. In 1998, a separate modern bell tower was built. Later, new domes and crosses, windows and doors were installed. And in 2014–2015, the surrounding area was ordered.
The Holy Intercession Church is a monument of architecture of the retrospective Russian style.
