City Hall in Čačersk is a unique building.

You can see a city hall with five towers only in Chachersk. The architecture of City Hall is unusual and differs from the norms of the end of the XVIII century. Elements of classicism are used with Gothic lineaments. Only those cities which had autonomy, Magdeburg rights, could build a city hall. Chachersk received it in 1510 from Grand Duke of Lithuania and King of Poland Sigismund I the Old. After that a wooden building of City Hall came into being very soon. At the end of the XVIII century a stone city hall was already built. A catholic church and three orthodox churches appeared in the city together with it. From these churches only one remained – Church of Transfiguration. In 1974 the building of City Hall badly damaged by fire and was renovated only in 2003. In September 2004 Historical Ethnographical Museum of Chachersk was opened in this building. As many years ago City Hall remains the highest building in the city. You can try climb up a spiral staircase to the top and get a bird’s-eye view of Chachersk .
