The bronze monument to Mark Šahal on Vulica Pakroŭskaja was erected in 1992 on the artist's birthday

The monument to the world-famous artist Mark Šahal (1887–1985) was erected at the beginning of Vulica Pakroŭskaja in 1992. A Viciebsk sculptor, a member of the Union of Artists of Belarus Aliaksandr M. Hvodzikaŭ was its author.

"Here, on Vulica Pakroŭskaja, I was born again," wrote Mark Šahal in his autobiographical book “My life". On the street, the residential and industrial buildings of the late 19th – early 20th century have been preserved in fragments. The Memorial House-Museum of Mark Šahal is also located here.
