Cloister of White Ladies and Saint Michael the Archangel Church are the main decor of the city.
The church is a monument of architecture of the XVIII century. There were three cloisters of Cistercians on the territory of present-day Belarus altogether. Two of them (men and women) were situated here, in Mazyr. The cloister of White Ladies was founded in 1610 in the times of counterreformation in accordance with the privilege of Sigismund III Vasa. The church came into being in 1743 and was built in the late baroque style. By the cloister there were schools for girls where there were studied music, arithmetic, languages. In the end of XIX century all buildings of cloister were handed over to orthodox confession. In XX century at different times the cloister was used as a barrack, an orphan home, a music school. And only in 1990s it was given back to faithful.
