The Mound of Immortality in Lida is located in the central part of the city, on the territory of a large park. It became a central place of worshipping those who died during the Second World War.

The raising of a mound began on May 9, 1966, in commemoration of the 21st anniversary of the victory of our city over fascism. The mound is a five-sided pyramid with a height of 7 meters, with a total perimeter of 55 meters at the foundation. At the foundation of the mound there is a capsule, around which the sacred soil is poured, brought by numerous delegations who arrived in Lida. On July 8, 1966, an Eternal Flame was lit at the foot of the mound, and in 1967 the Grave of the Unknown Soldier was moved here. In 1973, the mound was supplemented with pylons 14 meters high, tilted at an angle of 76 degrees, symbolizing the barrels of artillery guns.
