The Orthodox Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God not only adorned the city, but also became the center of bell ringer art.

The Temple of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was founded in 1990. It was erected in memory of the soldiers who died during the Soviet-Afghan war of 1979–1989. The temple was built for funds donated by residents. Most of the construction work was done by the parishioners themselves, including those who fought in Afghanistan. On November 4, 1993, on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the temple was consecrated.

The seven-domed church, made in the traditional orthodoxy style, became an adornment of the city. A high bell tower was built near the temple and 12 bells were installed. The famous bell ringer Hieorhij Sudas works in Kalinkavičy. He was a laureate of ringing competitions held in the framework of the «Slavic Bazaar» in 2003 and 2004 in Viciebsk. Beginner bell ringers come to him for studying not only from Belarus, but also from other countries.
