The Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas is the oldest Orthodox church in Kalinkavičy. Over the centuries, it was restored and rebuilt, survived the wars, but was destroyed by the Soviet authorities.

The Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas has existed in Kalinkavičy since the 16th century. It is known that near 1560 a wooden Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built here. The construction of the new stone Church of St. Nicholas was completed in 1856, and in 1857 the church was consecrated.

In 1930 in the BSSR, during the anti-religious campaign of Soviet authorities, the Orthodox parish in Kalinkavičy was liquidated, and the Church of St. Nicholas was closed. The bell tower at the temple was dismantled, however, the removed bells and crosses were preserved. The local branch of the State Bank was located in the church building.

At the time of the Second World War II, the church was reopened and continued to operate after the war. However, in 1964, a commission of the city executive committee appeared in the church. The chairman of the commission informed the priest about the closure of the church. The temple was sealed. Crosses were removed from the temple again, the domes were thrown off, and the bells were sold for scrap. Over time, the temple was rebuilt and lost its church appearance. For a long time there was the city House of Pioneers in it, and then the House of Children's Creativity, which operates up to this day.
