The Cathedral of St. Kiryla Turaŭski and Laŭrencij Turaŭski was built in 2010-2013 on the site of a temple destroyed during the Tatar raids of the XII – XIII centuries.
The construction of the first cathedral temple in the city dates back to the XII century. However, in the next XIII century this church was destroyed during the Tatar invasion.
At the beginning of the 20th century, fundraising for the construction of a new cathedral began. However, the outbreak of the First World War, the revolution and the establishment of Soviet power did not allow to begin construction.
The question of erecting a temple was raised again only in independent Belarus. In May 2010, the first foundation stone of the future church was laid. The cathedral was consecrated in 2013.
The temple is made in the ancient Byzantine style and has 9 domes. Together with the cross, the height of the cathedral is 32 meters.
