The only non-state wildlife sanctuary in Belarus, opened in 2008.

Turaŭ city is rich not only in its history, but also in its natural features. Many migratory birds stop on this territory during seasonal migrations, some of them make their nests here. That is why in 2008 on the banks of the Prypiać river the only non-state wildlife sanctuary «Turaŭ Meadow» was opened.

Every year, due to spills, the wildlife sanctuary turns into a network of islands, which are used by many birds to host their colonies. There the only bird ringing station in the country is located.

Every year Turaŭ is visited by many tourists who want to come to the wildlife sanctuary «Turaŭ Meadow» to enjoy watching rare birds listed in the Red Book.
