Avenue of Righteous men was created in honor of 15 natives of Babrujščyna who were saving Jewish families in the years of Second World War.

Avenue of Righteous men of the People of the World was opened in 2005. It was created in honor of 15 natives of Babruisk land who were saving Jewish families in the years of the Second World War. A city Jewish community stepped forth as the organizer of the installation of this monument. Title “Righteous man of the People of the World” was found and is conferred by Israel Museum of the Catastrophe and Heroism of Jewish People «Yad Vashem». Israel continues the search and the honor of righteous men until now. About 20.000 people are already enrolled to righteous men. About 500 of them are from Belarus. The length of Avenue amounts to about 30 m. 15 firtrees and pussy-willows are planted along it. 15 boulders, on which the names of the righteous men of the people of the world of Babruisk and the village Shchadryn of Zhlobin region inhabitants are engraved, are laid near. A big boulder of about 1.5 m height and about 2 m width lies in the end of Avenue. It resembles top of a tree, the symbol of the continuation of life, and broken for a half heart, the symbol of grief and distress, at the same time. There is an inscription in Belarusian and Hebrew on the stone: “To the righteous men of the people of the world, to people who were saving Jews in the years of war with risk for own life”.
