"Swiss Valley" in Hrodna is a picturesque park complex in the central part of the city.

The creation history of the park complex "Swiss Valley" is associated with the name of Podskarbi of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the head of the royal economy in Hrodna Antoni Tyzienhaŭz. The construction of the outskirts of Hrodna (Haradnica) began in 1765 by his decision. The palace built here was surrounded by a beautiful garden with a unique collection of plants and a system of ponds. A theater was built and a cadet school was founded nearby.

After the second partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1793, the palace was transformed into the residence of the Hrodna governor. At the same time, bridges were thrown across the Haradničanka River, which crossed the park, and the banks of the river were furnished with beautiful benches. Thus, a city park appeared in Hrodna. In 1867 Napalieon Orda made a sketch of a city park with a river valley, which he called "Swiss Valley". This name has gone down in history.

The governorate palace was destroyed during the First World War, and during the Second World War “Swiss Valley” fell into complete desolation. On the initiative of the Hrodna city authorities at the time of independence at the beginning of the 21th century, a project for the reconstruction and improvement of the park and "Swiss Valley" was developed. It was released in December 2005. During the reconstruction, the banks of Haradničanka were strengthened, in some places they were taken under the concrete cover. The riverbed was cleared. To organize the space and highlight the unique landscape of the valley, individual trees were removed.

Within the city park “Swiss Valley” is surrounded by a low openwork fence. A concrete staircase to the river was built. A bridge thrown over Haradničanka leads to the upper part of the "valley". A small grotto by the old bridge and a niche on the semicircular wall of the observation deck complement the surrounding beauty.
