Holy Protection Church is a modern temple. Built in the style of old Russian church architecture.

In the XIX century on the site of the city of Kiraŭsk there was the Kačeryčy estate, the former center of the Kačeryčy volost of the Babrujsk poviat.

The church in honor of St. Nicholas was built in Kačeryčy in 1840 at the expense of the local landowner von Goer. In 1863, the church was renovated.

In the 20-30s of the XX century due to the anti-religious policy of the Soviet regime, the parish church of St. Nicholas was closed and later destroyed.

The settlement Kiraŭsk named after the Soviet functionary Siarhiej Kiraŭ was built on the site of the Kačeryčy estate in 1935. Soon the regional center was moved to Kiraŭsk.

An Orthodox parish was founded in Kiraŭsk only in the early 90s of the XX century with the blessing of the Bishop of Mahilioŭ and Mscislaŭ. And in 1995, the house on vulica Haharyna was rebuilt in the Holy Protection Church.
