Kotra is a river that flows in Lithuania, Hrodna and Ščučynsk Belarusian regions. It is a right tributary of the Nioman. Its length is 140 kilometers, and its catchment area is 2060 square kilometers.
Kotra starts on the territory of Lithuania (Varėna district), almost all the time flowing through the forest. The estuary is located south of the village Komatava in Hrodna region.
The highest flood level is in late March and early April. It freezes at the end of December, and ice breaks usually in early March. The Kotranskaja Pušča lies on the left bank. Reclamation channels are located in the floodplain. The fishing area is 35 kilometers from the mouth upstream. The river valley to Korava lake is clear, its width is 300-500 meters wide, boggy, lower – winding, dry. There are lakes Bierštaŭskaje, Zubraŭka, Cimnica in the basin.
