Chapel of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1870 in the neo-Gothic style of red brick and is well preserved. In its architecture, it is more like a chapel – quite compact and not very high.

Skidzieĺ has been known since the beginning of the XVI century as a grand-ducal (later royal) court with a parish in the Hrodna district of Grand Duchy of Lithuania. From 1796 to 1939, the Skidzieĺ manor belonged to the famous family of Čacviarcinskis princes. In 1870 the Čacviarcinskis built a small сatholic сhurch in the neo-Gothic style of red exterior brick on the territory of their manor, which was located on the North-Eastern edge of the town. Since the construction of churches was forbidden by the Russian authorities at that time, it was consecrated as Chapel of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In Soviet times the church was closed, and then, like many other Belarusian religious temples, passed the way from the repository to the ruins. In 1991, the church was returned to the parishioners, as evidenced by a memorial board under the choir. In 1993, the first mass was solemnly held in the rebuilt church.
