A sculpture dedicated to Symon Budny and Vasiĺ Ciapinski was installed in the square of the Belarusian State University in 2000.

Symon Budny and Vasiĺ Ciapinski are figures of the Belarusian reformation. Both future reformers were born in the 1530s–1540s. Symon Budny was a theologian and Bible translator who spent his life fighting for the Church Reformation. Thanks to the support of the Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Mikalaj Radzivil Čorny, he published a Belarusian-language Protestant Catechism in Niasviž in 1562. This book became the most popular school manual at that time.

Vasiĺ Ciapinski, as well as Francysk Skaryna, translated the biblical texts into Belarusian. His life position and views were close to those of Symon Budny. Vasiĺ Ciapinski explained concerning the publication of the Gospels translated into Belarusian, which was published in 1570, that the Word of God translated in this way would be understandable to ordinary people and allow them to personally know Jesus Christ.

The monument to Symon Budny and Vasiĺ Ciapinski is set on a low pedestal, beautifully tiled. It is known for sure that Symon Budny and Vasiĺ Ciapinski were acquainted. Therefore, the author of the sculpture Ihar Holubieŭ showed them sitting on a bench and having a discussion.
