In 2008, the monument was sent for restoration. In June of the same year, the monument was installed in a new place in the square, near vulica Maksima Bahdanoviča. Relative to the former location, the monument was moved 150 meters to the North-West, closer to the birthplace of the poet, and turned to face the Svislač River.

The 4.6 m high bronze sculpture is mounted on a low stepped pedestal made of red granite. The poet is shown with his arms crossed on his chest, with a bouquet of cornflowers in his right hand. The poet's love for his native Belarusian land is reflected in the figure's foreshortening, in the thoughtful, directed into the distance gaze.
