The Orthodox church in Novalukomĺ had been operated since 1994. In March 2009, it was significantly damaged by a night fire. It was disassembled due to the emergency condition. Now it can be seen only in photographs.
The history of the Orthodox parish in Novalukomĺ began with the construction of a small wooden Holy Resurrection church, which began to operate in 1994. In March 2009, a fire broke out in a wooden church building on the night of March 3–4. The fire damaged the dome, walls and roof.
For some time, divine services were held in the damaged building, but because of the emergency condition, finally it was disassembled. One of the military units donated a field tent, which replaced the temple for parishioners for a while.
Due to lack of funds for the construction of a permanent temple, it was decided to build a temporary temple – a chapel. Its construction began in April 2012 and was completed in 7 months.
Thanks to the donations of residents and organizations of the city, construction work began in the autumn of 2014 and the first blocks were laid in the foundation of the future temple in honor of the holy martyr Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kiev and Galicia.
