The Orthodox Church in honor of the Mother of God Icon is one of the central temples of the city.

The stone Orthodox temple in Ivacevičy was built in 1870 by the Russian authorities. In 1961, the church was destroyed by Soviet power.

In 1992, not far from the place where the old church was, the construction of a new brick church began. It is solved in stylized forms of Old Russian church architecture.

There is the largest bell in Belarus on the bell tower of this Orthodox temple. Its weight is about 2 tons. The bell is decorated with bas-relief drawings of the Jefrasinnia Polackaja’s cross and the Mother of God icon. The inscription is made at the bottom of the bell, circling it around the perimeter: «This bell was cast in 2006 from the Nativity of Christ for state money in sacrifice and as a prayer call for the revival of Christian statehood».
