Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church is an architectural landmark of Dzisna.

The Orthodox church was built in 1864–1870 on the highest site in the city center. It is built in retrospective-Russian style.

The miraculous icon of the Mother of God «Hodegetria», which is a copy of the XVIII century from the more ancient Smaliensk icon of the Mother of God «Hodegetria», was situated in the temple. In 1915, during the First World War, the icon was transferred to Moscow, but a year later it was returned to Dzisna.

After the end of the Second World War, in line with the anti-religious policies of the Soviet regime, the Holy Resurrection Orthodox church was closed and converted into a warehouse. However, church values, including the icon «Hodegetria», were saved and transferred to a small church located in the local Orthodox cemetery.

The Holy Resurrection Orthodox church was returned to believers in 1989, it was restored, and in 1991 the church was re-consecrated. Then the icon of the Mother of God «Hodegetria» was transferred here again. Today the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church is an architectural monument and historical and cultural value.
