In the Russian Empire, an almshouse was a shelter for the old and crippled people, which was held either by the church department or by government agencies.
The Barań almshouse was built in 1905. This is a two-story neoclassical building. Flattened facades were built. The main facade is framed by two towers with a cornice. There is a decoration in the form of garlands on the towers. Arched windows are richly decorated.
