In 2002, near the Agat research and production association, a monument of Jeŭfrasinnia Polackaja appeared. And today, many consider it one of the most interesting and original.
The author of the sculpture, Anatoĺ Artymovič, managed to embody the idea of the two-faceted nature of this historical person. On the one hand, it is a canonized saint, an example of boundless love for God and selflessness, the embodiment of faith, beauty and wisdom. On the other hand it is an ordinary person. The latter is embodied in the monument with the help of not one, but two doves on her shoulders. It is widely known that this particular bird symbolizes the Holy Spirit.
In the hands of Jeŭfrasinnia there is the cross of authorship by Lazar Bohša (created by her order in 1161, but, unfortunately, lost during the Second World War), and the fern flower is at the back of the ascetic. The clothes of Jeŭfrasinnia Polackaja are also interesting – simple and unremarkable, as if this is really the most ordinary woman.
