The Press Iron Museum in Minsk is one of the most unusual and young museums. It was opened in 2018 in the Trajeckaje suburb.
In 2018, The Press Iron Museum was opened in Trajeckaje suburb on the second floor of house number 11 on Bahdanoviča Street. The exposition consists of more than 600 different irons from private collections.
The main feature of the expositions is that the exhibits are distributed by technology (by the materials from which the press irons are made, as well as by the type of heating). So, for example, the exposition presents solid cast press irons. They appeared in the 18th century, were made of cast iron and heated on an open fire or in an oven. Coal press irons are a case with holes where hot coals are poured. The exposition presents the technologically most dangerous press irons – spirit and gas press irons. The museum also features today’s traditional press irons with heating elements, as well as electric ones.
