The Center of Contemporary Arts is a venue for exhibitions, as well as an organization combining educational and research activities.
Center of Contemporary Arts (official name of the National Center of Contemporary Arts of Belarus) is located in the Belarusian capital on Niakrasava Street, 3.
For many years this building housed the "Creative Academic Workshops of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture", which functioned at the Belarusian Academy of Arts. The head of the Creative Academic Workshops has long been the famous Belarusian painter Michail Savicki. There was also a workshop where the national artist worked himself. Many of the things Savicki worked with are preserved. Today you can see the creative tool with which the painter worked, as well as copies of his works and various photographs.
After the death of Michail Savicki, the Center continued its activities, but lost the prefix “academic”. However, as before, the Center represents the place of embodiment of many art projects, including experimental ones. Works that are the embodiment of various trends and currents of modern art are demonstrated here. The postgraduate school where young artists and sculptors hone their skills also works at the Center.
