In the center of the capital, in the park of Maxim Horki the Minsk Planetarium is situated. Here astronomy lovers can watch the starry sky, as well as listen to thematic lectures.
Minsk Planetarium was opened on June 29, 1965. At the same time, an observatory was opened. The planetarium building was built according to a standard project. The main star hall accommodates up to 120 visitors; it is equipped with a dome-shaped screen and an optical-mechanical apparatus.
Observatory tower has 6 meters in height. It houses a refractor telescope, with the help of which visitors can observe the Sun and see spots on it, observe the Moon and see craters, observe planets Mars, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn, star nebulae and nearby galaxies.
Planetarium employees have developed many educational programs for both adults and children of different ages.
