The memorial sign "Brest Bible" was installed in 2017 thanks to the efforts of the city authorities and the support of the Protestant churches of Brest. The event was timed to the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian Bible.

The Brest Bible is a masterpiece of the printing art of the Reformation in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. It was published in a printing house in Brest at the expense of Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Brest headman Mikalaj Radzivil Čorny in 1563.

On May 12, 2017 by the decision of the Brest regional authorities an open competition was announced for development of a memorial sign dedicated to the Brest Bible. The winner was Anton Ničyparuk. He proposed the idea of a stylized open book with a print of illustrations and the date of publication of the Brest Bible.

Currently, the memorial sign "Brest Bible" is equipped with a wireless wi-fi point with the possibility to access to the information in six languages: Belarusian, Russian, Ukrainian, English, Polish, and Chinese. Everyone can learn not only about the history of the publication of the famous Bible, but also get acquainted with its content.

Publication date: 10.07.2019.
