The railway museum is located near the Brest Fortress – an important war memorial in Belarus. This place is truly a vivid reflection of the development of railway equipment in Belarus.

The railway museum is located near the Brest Fortress. This open-air museum was founded on May 15, 2002 under the project and the initiative of Arkadź Pryviecieĺ, a veteran of labour and an honorary railwayman.

The exposition of the museum is directly related to the history of railway transport in Belarus. Throughout its existence, the museum's collection was actively replenished with different techniques and tools – now there are about 170 units.

The museum territory covers an area of 3 hectares. Visitors can see locomotives and steam engines from different times, from pre-war to modern models, steam cranes, old passenger ones, ambulance and staff carriages. The museum also has carriages with anti-aircraft mountings, a station bell and even an electric clock of 1953. The main treasure and pride of the museum is the locomotive that was released in 1926.

On the territory of the museum a railway track was laid over a kilometre in length, so that visitors can see how locomotives moved at the beginning of the XX century.

The Brest railway museum differs from similar museums in that some of the exhibits are functioning at the moment. Due to this, the museum is often chosen as a place for historical films shooting.
