St. Simeon orthodox cathedral with five domes is listed in the Register of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus.
St. Simeon cathedral was built in 1865–1868 by the Brest city architect Palikarpaŭ. Construction work was carried out by different masters. So, walls were done by bricklayers from Chernihiv province, and roof, stucco and painting works were done by Brest masters. Cast-iron elements of the temple were moulded at Evans factory in Warsaw, and the bell weighing 100 pounds, liturgical utensils and icons of an artist Citoŭ were delivered from Moscow.
The initial appearance of the temple is known thanks to watercolor of Napoleon Orda of 1869. The cathedral was restored twice: major repairs were made in 1886. St. Simeon cathedral, despite the anti-religious policy of the Soviet regime, has not been closed.
The composition of the temple is centric cruciform in plan. Facades are characterized by narrow arch windows, a high shaped cornice encircling the perimeter of the building. In 2010, accent lighting has been made, with the result that the cathedral received the informal name of "soaring temple".
