The museum “Saved Art Valuables” is informally called the “museum of what the customs have confiscated”. It was opened in Brest in 1989.

Museum "Saved artistic values" was opened February 4, 1989. However, the collection had started much earlier, since 1953. It is the only museum in Belarus, exhibition of which is composed of works of art and antiques, which were confiscated by customs officers when attempting to illegally export abroad.

The museum is located in a building that is part of architectural monuments. This is a building of 1925–1927 on the project of talented architect Juĺjan Lisiecki. The first exposition was presented to visitors in restored building in 1989. Now this cultural institution belongs to the Brest Regional Museum.

February 19, 2016 a new exposition of the museum which presented about 400 museum objects exhibited in 10 halls was opened.

The museum presents a collection of Russian icon-painting of XVI – early XX centuries. Jeweler's art is presented by works of world-famous firms Fabergé, Ovchinnikov, Khlebnikov and others. Western European decorative arts of XVIII – early XX century are presented by antique furniture, produced of bronze and porcelain. The museum also has a collection of painting and graphics.

Vernissages, chamber music concerts, master classes, actions "Night of Museums" are regularly held at the museum "Saved artistic values" besides the permanent exposition.
