Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an architectural monument of retrospective Russian style with features of classicism.

Located in Kobryn on Vulica Lienina, 18 (former Zamkavy Pliac). Construction of a brick temple was carried out within the framework of the Russification policy pursued by the Russian authorities in the Belarusian lands after the suppression of the uprising of 1863–1864.

A project and estimate were drafted by Kaliankievich, a provincial architect, and approved by the provincial administration in 1864. Funds for the construction of the temple were allocated by order of the Vilnia governor-general Mikhail Muravyov. The cathedral was built in 1864–1868. St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral had functioned until 1964, when it was closed due to the anti-religious campaign of Soviet power. After the closure the building of the former temple was adapted first for a planetarium, then a branch of the State Archive of Brest Region. The cathedral was returned to Orthodox faithful in 1989. It was reconsecrated by Metropolitan of Minsk Filaret on the 12th of September 1990. In 1990–1993 restoration was carried out in the temple.
