Symon Budny – the author of the famous "Catechism" of 1562, reformer, translator of the Bible – is an iconic figure in the history and culture of Belarus.

In 1982, a monument to Symon Budny was opened in Niasviž. The author of the monument was Sviatlana Harbunova. The three-meter sculpture was installed near the place where Symon Budny worked – the Niasviž printing house. It is symbolic that Symon Budny is holding a book depicting the sun – a symbol of knowledge and a source of inexhaustible wisdom.
