Kareličy is an ancient town, known since the end of the XVI century. However, information about Catholic churches in the old town up to 1920 hasn’t been found in the archives yet.
Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was built in 1938 on the main square. Local Catholic believers and count Zhautouski, owner of the Ruta Estate, founded the building of the Church. Nuns from monastic house in town Mir helped in the construction of the temple. After World War II the Church was closed by the atheistic Soviet authorities and the church building was used as a liquor store. In 1991 the temple was returned to believers and restoration work began immediately. On September 26, 1992 the grand opening of the temple took place.
