This is a place of incipience of the ancient Rahačoŭ.

Rahačoŭ was first mentioned in 1142. This is one of the ancient Belarusian towns. Here, on the hill, at the Dniapro and Druć rivers junction, a fortified centre of the ancient Rahačoŭ was located. In the 16th century, thanks to the Queen of Poland and Great Lithuanian Duchess Bona Sforca, a castle appeared on the hill. It was made of wood and surrounded with an earth mound and a ditch. Defensive walls had a pale fence form. There was a single-story palace, a wing, a church and household buildings in the middle of the courtyard. In the late 17th century, the palace began to fall into disrepair, its ruins disappeared during World War II. Today, there is a great stone, which witnesses the ancientness of the town, with an inscription on it: “The town of Rahačoŭ started here in 1142”.
